Today in Leinster House: September 13, 2012

AS A WARM-UP of sorts before the two Houses of the Oireachtas get back into the swing of things next Tuesday, there’s two committee meetings today – one probably more high-profile than the other.

10:00am – Justice Equality and Defence – In Room 2 (web stream here, Facebook stream here) Alan Shatter talks members through the Personal Insolvency Bill, aiming to overhaul Ireland’s bankruptcy rules, while members will vote on proposed amendments too.

11:15am – Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement – In Room 4 (web stream here, Facebook stream here), meanwhile, Joanna Tuffy convenes her Good Friday committee to hear from councillors on both sides of the border – representing councils in border counties as well as Derry, Dungannon, Omagh and Strabane – as they talk about development plans for cross-border transport including the M1, N2, A5 and N14.
