Today in Leinster House: April 5, 2012

Day 2 of the three days of Fiscal Compact referendum hearings…

(Note to email subscribers: I suspect you might only be getting yesterday’s update in this morning’s mail. Apologies for this: I’m working on ironing out the kinks. – GR)

11:30am – Sub-Committee on the Fiscal Compact Referendum – Returning to Room 3, members will today devote their attentions to the opinions of groups within Irish society on the nature of the fiscal compact and the impact its ratification would have.

The first session will include Mark Fielding from ISME, Brendan Bruen of Financial Services Ireland, Irish Farmers Association president John Bryan, and Brendan Butler of IBEC.

2:00pm – Sub-Committee on the Fiscal Compact Referendum – Session 2 will feature the thoughts of Deirdre Garvey from charities umbrella group The Wheel; Brendan Halligan from the Institute of International and European Affairs (IIEA); Bríd O’Brien of the Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed (INOU), and Noelle O’Connell from the European Movement Ireland.

4:00pm – Sub-Committee on the Fiscal Compact Referendum – The final session, oddly, could be the one that gets the most headlines: it will see the thoughts of former Green Party by-election candidate Roderic O’Gorman, Alliance Party councillor Andrew Muir, and Libertas chairman Declan Ganley.
