Today in Leinster House: November 28, 2011

You probably didn’t expect to see us around these parts on a Monday – but, then again, we didn’t expect to find ourselves here either. Truth be told, we don’t think many members of the Seanad would expect to be around on a Monday night either…

6pm – Water Services (Amendment) Bill 2011 (to conclude) – The Seanad holds a relatively late session, finishing its examination of semi-emergency legislation to bring Ireland with EU directives and end fines imposed by the European Court of Justice. The legislation relates to the mandatory inspection of septic tanks – and the Seanad has already seen a row over whether Cavan, which already complies with the rules, should be exempted from its provisions.

The day’s business can be viewed on our Seanad streams for web and Facebook.
