Hot off the press release newswires… the Houses of the Oireachtas and UPC are today launching an Oireachas TV channel which will be carried on all UPC digital subscriptions.

The coverage will be carried on channel 801, and will include live Dáil sessions, with airing of pre-recorded Seanad and committee sessions between Friday lunchtime and Tuesday morning when the houses are in recess.

Coverage begins at 2pm today with Questions to the Minister for Finance. The new channel is delivered free of charge and will not result in extra costs for either the taxpayer or the Houses of the Oireachtas.
